Connecting Aerospace Interests

Avcorp Industries, British Columbia

PNAA’s Aerospace Company of the Year Award is presented to the aerospace company located in the Pacific Northwest that has exhibited exceptional organizational and managerial characteristics while continually maintaining a strong competitive posture, thus raising the industry standard for the Pacific Northwest.

Avcorp 1In 1957, Aerostructures Engineering was created with a vision to design and build aircraft floats. Canadian Aircraft Products Ltd was then formed in 1964 with funding from a new partner and was soon established as a capable design and manufacturing supplier.
Canadian Aircraft Products then evolved into Avcorp Industries Inc. in the 1980s. Avcorp has since expanded internationally into a primary supplier of system integrated metallic, composite and hybrid structural components and assemblies and MRO. As a leading provider of major structures for OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, Avcorp has been recognized annually for performance excellence in quality, delivery and supplier relationship management.

“Avcorp was chosen as PNAA’s 2016 Company of the Year because their leadership exemplifies the nimbleness and sound decision making characteristics necessary for all aerospace companies to thrive and grow in a globally competitive marketplace,” said PNAA Board Member Jim Sheehan.

“Avcorp provides us with a fine example of how to strengthen capability organically and through acquisition while building a backlog in both domestic and international defense and commercial sectors. Avcorp contributes to the science and technology of British Columbia through their MOU with UBC in the Learning Factory initiative which will study how to integrate industrial production with learning and research on advanced composites.”

Avcorp’s mission is to deliver Better Solutions to the aerospace and defense industry. As such, Avcorp is committed to continually ensuring its capabilities to develop leading solutions that drive productivity and next generation applications.

The Avcorp Group has continually grown in capability and now consists of over 750 skilled employees and 636,000 square feet of facilities, operating from three strategic locations in British Columbia, Canada; Toronto, Canada; and California, USA. Key customers include Boeing, BAE Systems, Bombardier, Fuji Heavy Industries and Lockheed Martin.

Avcorp 2Recognizing the importance of stability, Avcorp targets the diversity of four key markets, leveraging the best technology, people and solutions to achieve long-term, predictable results. Avcorp serves Commercial, Defense & Space, Business and Regional markets with integrated component and assembly supply, and provides extensive component repair services for operators and MROs.

Avcorp’s supply includes integrated composite and metallic structures, bonded composite panels, composite components, metal bond assemblies and MRO. Avcorp’s dedicated program management teams have proven success managing a broad-based, global supply chain to deliver best value solutions. Through a robust quality management system, Avcorp ensures compliance with regulatory and special process requirements to mitigate risk and exceed customer expectations.

Avcorp is currently an active PNAA member and participant. It is this engagement along with technology investments and collaborations with the CRN and UBC that support Avcorp’s ability to continuously provide Better Solutions to customers.

Consistently strengthening Avcorp’s Competitive Edge through partnership with other PNAA members and global partners, this stellar company continues to create new opportunities both within the Pacific Northwest and as part of the global supply chain.

PNAA’s Board President Ted Croft: “PNAA is proud to recognize Avcorp for their contributions and their role in strengthening the Pacific NW Aerospace Cluster.”
