2016 Melanie Jordan small 72Melanie Jordan is the Chief Executive Officer at Pacific Northwest Aerospace Alliance, the region’s premier trade organization responsible for connecting aerospace interests.  Melanie joined PNAA in 2007 and accepted progressive leadership positions, growing the organization’s role and visibility throughout the Northwest Aerospace Cluster. 

Melanie’s interest in aerospace began when she was a child watching the early Boeing series aircraft take-off from her hometown airport in Renton, Washington.  She began her career in airline flight operations in the early 70s, trained with the FAA in Air Traffic Control, obtained her pilot & jet aircraft dispatcher licenses and became an aircraft owner.  Moving to Snohomish County in the 90s, she was chosen to serve as Chairman of the Arlington Airport Commission.  In 2003, Melanie became part of the visionary leadership team building the Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour and served as the Foundation’s first president. 

In 2004, she founded Aerospace & Aviation Liaison Services to provide consulting and outreach services for aerospace manufacturers, educational institutions, museums and other aerospace stakeholders to create opportunities benefiting the greater aerospace community.

In 2013, Melanie was hired as PNAA’s first Executive Director.  She quickly rose to the rank of Chief Operating Officer in 2014 and was named CEO and Executive Director in July 2016.  

In her free time, Melanie is a consummate aviation volunteer, serving as Chairman Emeritus with the Institute of Flight, and advisor to Historic Flight Foundation.  She also enjoys flying with the Puget Sound Antique Aircraft Club.  With a son at MIT, she is a tireless advocate for STEM education and careers.
